CONCLUSION

Degenerative diseases

In this issue, we primarily focused on degenerative diseases and the various therapeutic routes to reduce their intensity. However, with the advent of novel interdisciplinary approaches in the field of biotechnology, new efficient methods to target these diseases are being researched as we speak. These advancements rely heavily on modelling and simulating in vitro conditions before going ahead with trials in animal models. Does a new therapeutic method always have to be successful? No. However, it does create information based on which further methods can be built, serving as a stepping stone to better options available for combatting degenerative diseases.
